Singapore Sports Hub Rebrands as The Kallang, Signalling Broader Focus Across Sport, Entertainment, Lifestyle and Community

The Singapore Sports Hub has been officially renamed The Kallang, a move aimed at broadening the precinct’s reach across sport, entertainment, lifestyle and community.

The Singapore Sports Hub has officially been renamed The Kallang, marking a significant move to position the iconic precinct as a more accessible and diverse destination across sport, entertainment, lifestyle and community. The transition is led by its operator, now rebranded as The Kallang Group.

A Precinct With New Purpose

The Kallang brings together all the existing infrastructure and assets previously known as the Singapore Sports Hub. The Kallang Group will continue to oversee the management and programming, building on the strong momentum of the past three years.

Chairman Keith Magnus and Chief Executive Officer Quek Swee Kuan unveiled the new brand at a launch event at the National Stadium, joined by over 300 partners and stakeholders from the precinct’s four pillars: sport, entertainment, lifestyle, and community.

Building on Strong Growth

Since 2022, The Kallang has delivered more event days, attracted higher attendance and strengthened its reputation as Singapore’s centre for large-scale experiences. In 2025, the precinct hosted the World Aquatics Championships, the World Para Swimming Championships, and the only Asia stop on Lady Gaga’s tour.

At the community level, it has remained a gathering point for events such as the National School Games, GetActive!, Majulah Fiesta and the ONE Countdown.

Magnus said the rebrand signals a new chapter. Over the past three years, The Kallang has hosted more than 4,000 event days and welcomed over nine million visitors. “The Kallang is not just a world-class venue. It is a feeling, a connection, a shared memory,” he said. “Our ambition is for The Kallang to become the excitement epicentre of Singapore.”

Why ‘The Kallang’ and Why it Matters

For generations, “Kallang” has represented a national touchpoint. From the former National Stadium to the present one, it is where the Kallang Roar and Kallang Wave took root and where Singaporeans gathered to celebrate milestones such as the National Day Parade.

The refreshed name builds on this legacy while broadening the precinct’s identity to reflect its role across sport, entertainment, lifestyle and community. It aims to honour collective memories while expanding its purpose for future generations.

Expanding Community Impact

The Kallang Group will continue investing in programmes that bring communities together. Its first event under the new brand, Countdown 2026 at The Kallang, will feature a major outdoor concert headlined by Super Junior, family activities, and Singapore’s longest countdown fireworks display at 35 minutes.

To spark additional excitement, the organisation introduced The Kallang Pass, offering a pair of tickets to a suite of events at the National Stadium and Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2026. Attendees of Countdown 2026 can enter the draw and you can register your interest here.

Major Upgrades on the Way

To shape the next phase of growth, The Kallang Group announced a series of infrastructure enhancements. Visitors can expect:

  • New alfresco dining concepts along the Kallang Basin
  • A refreshed, community-centred plaza
  • An enhanced Splash-N-Surf transformed into an expanded playscape
  • Competition-ready sheltered padel courts
  • Upgraded climbing and bouldering walls

Works begin in phases from Q2 2026, with completion targeted for 2028. The mall will remain open throughout.

Commitment to Social Good

The Kallang Group reaffirmed its focus on accessibility and inclusion. Since 2023, it has partnered with more than 100 charities to provide thousands of beneficiaries with opportunities to enjoy live events. The organisation is exploring a philanthropic fund to deepen that impact.

“As we enter this next phase of growth, we are elevating both the curation and the hardware of the precinct with major upgrades, new national facilities and an even bolder calendar of marquee events. At the same time, we remain grounded in purpose,” Magnus said. “Together, these efforts express who we are today and the kind of impact we aim to make for the future.”
