The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) will have a new organiser from 2026, with local company SG Marathon set to take the helm. The appointment ends Ironman Asia’s ten-year tenure running the event, during which it became one of Singapore’s largest mass-participation sports weekends.
SG Marathon is a joint venture between Betterment Sports and SCORE Asia. The new organiser brings experience in sports participation and large-scale event delivery, and said they aim to broaden community engagement and grow the marathon’s appeal, with details on the 2026 edition to be released in due course.
According to media reports, Sport Singapore (SportSG) said the appointment followed an evaluation under its established assessment framework. In its statement, SportSG said: “SportSG is committed to ensuring that Singapore’s only national marathon remains a world-class running event for local and international participants.”
It added: “We look forward to partnering with SG Marathon Pte Ltd to deliver a successful marathon event in the coming years.”
Preparations for the transition have started, with SG Marathon expected to announce its plans for the 2026 race next year.
