Singapore football will enter a new chapter on Friday (Aug 7) when the Lions don the adidas three stripes for the first time in their final ASEAN Championship group match against Indonesia at Jalan Besar Stadium, following a landmark multi-year partnership between the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and the global sportswear giant.
The deal, announced on Saturday (Aug 1), will see the German brand become the new official kit sponsor of the Lions, replacing the previous 19-year partnership with Nike.
FAS president Forrest Li said the partnership represented an important step in the association’s efforts to rebuild and strengthen Singapore football.
“We are grateful to have adidas join us as a long-term partner of Singapore football. Their commitment and support will play an important role in advancing the game,” said Li.
“We hope this partnership inspires more organisations and Singaporeans to step forward and join us in our journey to bring the pride and joy back to the sport we love.”
The national team will be kitted out in the all-red home jersey during Friday’s clash, a fitting choice with the match taking place just two days before National Day.

The away jersey, meanwhile, marks a nostalgic return to Coventry Blue — a colour associated with the iconic 1977 national team kit worn when Singapore lifted the Malaysia Cup — in a nod to Singapore football’s heritage.
National team captain Hariss Harun welcomed the new partnership, saying the collaboration reflected the importance of identity as well as performance.
“Putting on the national team jersey should always feel special, and adidas understands the importance of that connection between performance, identity, and pride,” said Hariss.
“There is genuine excitement within the squad, and I think this partnership sends a strong signal that everyone is invested in pushing Singapore football forward together.”
Beyond the senior squad, the partnership will extend to the wider footballing ecosystem, with adidas supplying the official match ball for the Singapore Premier League and Singapore Cup while supporting youth development pathways.
Chen Ruiyuan, country manager of adidas Singapore, said the company hoped to play a role in growing the game locally.
“adidas believes that sport has the power to change lives, and FAS shares our belief,” said Chen.
“We believe that we are the brand to support the next chapter of the FAS and bring Singapore football forward.”

The partnership will also introduce new fanwear and community initiatives, including a “Satu Nada” collection created with local visual artist Slac Satu, inspired by the iconic chant of Singapore supporters.
The jerseys will be available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes, with the replica jersey priced at $99 and the authentic on-field version at $169.
The full range will be available from Sunday (Aug 2) through adidas’ online platforms, the adidas app, selected stores, FAS channels and retail partners.
