Singapore’s pickleball scene will reach a new milestone this July when the country hosts its first-ever Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Asia 500-tier tournament, which is the highest level of professional pickleball competition to debut in the nation.
Organised by Kin Productions, the tournament will run from 23 to 26 July 2026 at The Sports Arina@Expo. It will feature Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, as well as Mixed Doubles, across both professional and amateur categories. Player registration for the event opens on 28 April via the PPA Tour Asia website.
The professional draw carries US$70,000 in prize money and PPA ranking points, while amateur categories will offer up to S$12,000 in prize money.
A Pathway from Grassroots to the Pro Stage
The road to the Singapore Open has already begun. PickleSlam 2026, held at Jurong Play Grounds, served as the maiden PPA Asia 125-sanctioned event, bridging the gap between local play and the elite circuit. Pro division winners at PickleSlam secured their spots in the PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open draw, providing a clear pathway from grassroots competition to the professional stage.
Among those who earned their place was Singapore’s Charles Yong, who overcame Malaysia’s Timothy Foo to win the Pro Men’s Singles category.

Yong said, “The match was very intense, and I knew that going into this match I had to play my best, because he’s a rising star from Malaysia.
“I’m definitely happy and excited to represent Singapore in the PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open in July. I’m excited to see how I progress in the pro draw.”
A Milestone for Pickleball in Singapore
Adrian Tan, Tournament Director of the PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open, and Director of Kin Productions, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the event promoter for the inaugural PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open. This event represents a milestone not just for pickleball in Singapore but for the sport’s development across Asia. We look forward to delivering a truly unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.”
Kimberly Koh, Managing Director of United Pickleball Association, parent organisation of the PPA Tour Asia, said: “The debut of a PPA Asia 500 event in Singapore is a landmark moment for professional and amateur pickleball in the region. Singapore’s reputation as a global sporting destination, combined with its growing talent pool and enthusiastic fanbase, makes it an ideal host city. We’re excited to showcase world-class pickleball experience here and drive the sport’s continued growth across the region.”
